Land claims and permissions

More guides

Make a patch of the world your home, then welcome friends you trust.

A home your friends can help build

Your first little house becomes a real home when its walls are safe, its chest is yours, and a friend can come over to help with the roof.

A Home Totem marks a 12 m radius of your land. Place it where there is clear space away from another active claim and the village. You can keep 3 Home Totems. Its border appears while you build or hold your hammer.

What a claim protects

Inside an active claim, the owner and invited friends may build, take pieces down, dig, and use chests, doors, and beds. Other visitors can still enjoy the world around it, but they cannot change your home or open its things.

Use your Home Totem to see your land and the friends who may build there. Choose a player who is in the world, add up to 16 friends when you are ready, and remove them when their building day is over. An invited friend has the same building and use permission across that claim.

Claims that rest

Land protection is for homes that are still being lived in. If its owner stays away for 30 days, the claim rests. The totem remains, but the protection pauses until its owner comes back to play there.

This helps an empty patch become useful again while keeping an active home clear and calm.

Invite for a job, not by accident

Before adding a friend, put away anything precious and agree on the build. Add them for the wall, bridge, or garden you are making together. You can remove them from the totem as soon as you are done.

Where next

Put a bed inside your new home with Beds and respawn points. For walls, doors, and storage, read Building and waterworks. When a build becomes your favourite, save it with Blueprints.
