Mark a far shore, find your way, and return to places you have earned.

The far shore is not lost

You find a bright temple beyond the trees, mark it, and carry on. Later, the same map brings you back to the place you discovered. Every trip makes the world feel more like yours.

Your map and minimap

Open the map with M. Drag to pan and zoom in or out to see a small path or a whole land. The map shows you, the village, your bed, other players, places you have found and your pins.

The minimap stays in the corner while you play. It is north-up and shows the nearby ground, creatures, players and discovered places. Its zoom controls show 100 m, 200 m, or 400 m across. Select the minimap to open the full map at that spot.

Pins and the compass

On the full map, choose an empty spot to make a pin. Choose a pin again to lift it. You can keep 12 pins, and they are saved with your character, so they wait for you next time too.

The compass shows your pins while you explore. Face one to see how far away it is. Use pins for a good fishing bend, a friend’s building site, or the trail back to a new landmark.

Travel to what you know

The village and your bed are travel points. Lookouts, temples, towns and certain special places become travel points after you discover them. Choose an unlocked travel point on the map and confirm the trip.

Travel is for a quiet moment, not an escape from danger. After taking a hit, wait 10 seconds before travelling. Anything Tatazo is riding stays behind, so dismount somewhere safe first.

Pin a landmark before you wander away from it. Then explore freely, and use the compass instead of turning every journey into a careful retracing of steps.

Where next

Find more places through Continents and danger and Things to discover. Need a ride for the road between them? See Getting around, and animal friends. A bed is also a safe return point after a knockout; Knocked out and getting up explains that journey.
