Auto-attack, target lock and bite
More guidesChoose a creature, keep your aim, and let Tatazo fight with care.
A calm path through a hard fight
You spot a Gloom creature near a bridge. Choose it once, step clear of its charge, and Tatazo keeps his focus while you watch the ground and help your friends. That is what target lock and auto-attack are for.
Choose how much help you want
Clicking a creature can lock it as your target. With Target lock on, it stays your target until it is cleansed or you clear the lock. With Auto-attack on, Tatazo moves into reach when he can and keeps attacking the locked creature.
Both choices live in Settings → Game, and the round buttons beside the hotbar can change them while you play.
| Setting | When it is on | When it is off |
|---|---|---|
| Target lock | Your chosen creature stays targeted | Each click is a single attack |
| Auto-attack | Tatazo follows up on a locked target | Each click makes a single attack |
You are still in charge. Steer Tatazo away whenever you need to dodge. If follow is turned off, auto-attack waits when the creature is out of reach.
Kind limits on a fight
There is no fighting in a safe zone. Auto-attack also leaves animals alone until you strike first. In gentle worlds, creatures that do not attack first get the same care. Training dummies, bosses and Gloom creatures can be chosen right away.
If Tatazo has a usable weapon in his Hand gear slot, he draws it for an attack. If he has no weapon there, he bites. His bite is a real close-range attack that grows as he grows, so an empty hand never leaves you helpless.
Use target lock for a creature you want to keep in view, not for a crowd. Watch its warning move, step aside, and let Tatazo return to the target when it is safe.
