Venomscale Drake
Level 34+It sleeps curled among dead roots, dreaming old dragon dreams.
Field notes
Heavy and slow, it curls up among the isle's dead roots. Norse myths tell of Nidhogg, a dragon far below the world tree Yggdrasil, forever chewing at its roots. Its stomp slows you: step out of the ring when it rears.
Where it lives
Dragonfire Isle, in Dragon rock. Seen from level 34. Its level depends on where you meet it: at home, how far from the village you are; on the other lands, that land's band, lowest near the harbour side. It is stronger at night.
How to calm it
Weak to (takes more): Fire +40%Energy +20%
Tough against (takes less): Earth −70%
Its attack: the ground pound. It is slow to wind up (wind-up 1 s, then 2.6 s before the next).
Venomscale Drakes are weak to fire and energy but shrug off earth. They're slow to wind up their ground pound: step back out of the ring when they raise their arms. Their hits slow you down, so keep your distance.
Its hits slow you down (40% for 3 s). Cleansed, it turns back into a friendly animal and wanders home.
