Rosecrest Ridge Runner
Level 37+It knows every safe step between the lava fields, and it keeps them safe.
Field notes
A wingless dragon on six sturdy legs, with a crest like a rose in bloom. It keeps the narrow passes between the lava fields safe and charges straight down them: when it marks its lane on the ground, step aside. Korean tales tell of the imugi, a great serpent that must live well for a thousand years before it may rise as a true dragon.
Where it lives
Dragonfire Isle, in Dragon rock. Seen from level 37. Its level depends on where you meet it: at home, how far from the village you are; on the other lands, that land's band, lowest near the harbour side. It is stronger at night.
How to calm it
Weak to (takes more): Ice +40%Earth +20%
Tough against (takes less): Fire −75%
Its attack: the charge. It is slow to wind up (wind-up 1.1 s, then 2.6 s before the next).
Fire breath: it also breathes fire, up to 7 m. First it rears back for 1.2 s with its throat glowing while a cone lights the ground; then the stream sweeps across that cone for 1.5 s. Step out of the cone and the fire misses you. It can breathe again 9 s later. Dragon fire guide
Rosecrest Ridge Runners are weak to ice and earth but shrug off fire. They're slow to wind up their charge: sidestep when they lower their heads, then hit back while they catch their breath. Cleansed, they turn back into friendly animals.
Cleansed, it turns back into a friendly animal and wanders home.
